Start with the WhatsApp group
If your road has a group chat, use it. Post something simple. Something like, hi all, I am looking at getting Phoenix Patrol on our road for £10 a month, would anyone else be interested. That is enough. You do not need a pitch.
Do not push
Some people will say yes right away. Some will need to think about it. Some will never sign up. That is fine. Do not chase, do not guilt trip. Interest tends to snowball on its own once the first three or four are in.
Share the maths
Ten pounds a month is easy to justify on its own. But if you get ten households signed up, everyone drops to £8 a month for life. That kind of deal often tips people over the line.
Lean on real events
If your street has had a spate of car break ins, or a suspicious van hanging around, mention it. Not to scare people, just to explain why you are asking. Real events make it feel useful rather than paranoid.
